About the Artist: Angelina
Angelina has always had art at the core of her being. Currently, she serves as a teaching artist in a public school in the Tacoma area of Washington. In her personal practice, she focuses on working with fluid acrylic paints on canvas. Angelina holds a BA in Studio Art from San Jose State University.
At the age of 44, she began grappling with existential questions about her identity and purpose. Under the guidance of her mentor, Shilo Sophia, she discovered the transformative practice of Intentional Creativity. This approach revealed that creativity is a powerful pathway for self-understanding. For Angelina, each painting is not just an artwork, but a profound journey and a conversation with her soul, conveying countless messages.
Her creative process starts with setting a solid intention, which she embeds into the first layer of paint. From there, she allows her intuition and the brush to lead the way, with no predefined plan. This practice of listening to her inner voice and trusting the brush creates a magical experience, turning the canvas into a portal where whatever needs to emerge is welcomed. Each stroke and detail, no matter how small, carries significant meaning. As layers of paint build up, they form a multi-dimensional message from her soul.
